The verdict is in: Auto Body Repair News awards national top honors to Evansville based Lefler’s Collision and Glass, Mechanical and Diagnostic Repair Centers.
Lefler’s Collision and Glass, Mechanical and Diagnostic Repair Centers was selected as one of the top ten auto body repair facilities in the nation by ABRN, the leading trade journal of the industry. Facilities across the country were evaluated on many standards including originality, practical business sense and creativity.
Jimmy Lefler, owner and CEO, is the third generation of Leflers to take the helm of the family business. “We always strive to give customers the very best service possible and to give back to the community in a positive way,” said Lefler, “I think this award is reflective of that.”
Some of Lefler’s community outreach programs include day seminars for teen drivers and their parents, the maintenance of check points at all locations for proper installation of child passenger seats, and sponsorship and/or contributions to numerous events that benefit local charities. One of Lefler’s favorite ventures was the creation of the D.A.R.E Mustang for the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Department using a 2008 Ford Mustang confiscated from a local drug dealer. The D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) car is deployed as part of a program designed to give kids the skills they need to avoid involvement in drugs, gangs, and violence.
Other current projects involve adapting the design of vehicles not normally offered as conversions for disabled persons, and the design and construction of a car being donated to and utilized in the rehabilitation/therapy center of a local hospital.
Leroy Lefler opened the first Lefler's (Leroy's Paint and Fender Repair) in his dirt floor garage in 1952. The business, now called Lefler's Collision and Glass, Mechanical and Diagnostic, has expanded to a total of four locations in the Tri-State area offering unprecedented customer services in the automotive repair industry.
